Nearly 1,000 people joined the Hear Our Voices rally outside Republican Rep. Dave Reichert's office in Issaquah on February 23 calling on him to protect the ACA, funding for Planned Parenthood, and immigrants.
Fuse Washington, the state's largest progressive group, is no stranger to protests outside Republican events in Bellevue. It is working with a group called Hear Our Voices coalition, which put 750 demonstrators outside Rep. Dave Reichert's Issaquah office last February.
Jim Dawson, campaign director for Fuse, a progressive group putting pressure on the legislature over budget issues, speaks to a group gathered at Parkview Early Learning Center in Spokane. The gathering was a protest over the impasse between the Washington state Senate and House on the budget, especially concerning education and social services.
The forum was organized by progressive activist groups including Indivisible Tacoma, Fuse Washington, and Black Moms Rock. Candidates also outlined their positions on rising rents, gentrification and a federal detention center for immigrants facing deportation that is located in Tacoma.
Collin Jergens joins us to talk about the work Fuse Washington is doing with the Indivisible movement.
"It looks like what he's doing is legal, it's just rather unethical in our view," said Collin Jergens, a spokesman for the progressive political group Fuse Washington.

Seattle: How to use your democracy vouchers
On January 3, $100 worth of "Democracy Vouchers" will be arriving in the mailboxes of registered voters and lawful permanent residents of Seattle. These vouchers are the result of the successful Honest Elections Seattle Initiative 122 from 2015, which gives ordinary people a stronger voice in our government and limits the power of big money in Seattle elections.
